Dr. Crystal A. Galvan was born and raised in Goleta, California, among the fruit trees and the ocean
breeze. She attended Dos Pueblos High School along with Santa Barbara City College, before moving
to San Jose to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic West.
As a young girl the doctor spent many hours in her fathers chiropractic office in old town Goleta. Dr.
Roderick P. Clinton, D.C. practiced locally for over twenty years, contributing to the lives of many people.
This was the first exposure that influenced Crystal into following her father into the chiropractic
profession.
After achieving an Associates in Arts at Santa Barbara City College in 2003. The doctor moved to the
Bay area to attend chiropractic college for three years. During her time spent at Palmer College of
Chiropractic West, she was Vice President of the school's Medical Spanish Club. She also attended
various meeting of the Pediatrics Club, Sports Club, SOT Club, and Activator Club.
Upon moving back to Santa Barbara the doctor currently volunteers time at her alma mater Dos Pueblos
High School in the Athletic Department. Dr. Crystal has been assistant trainer since 2007 at DPHS, donates to a variety of organizations around town, is a member of a CCA and ICPA, ‘that influence Dr. Crystal’. She has
also donated services to the McKinley Elementary Sports program.
Dr. Crystal is a member of the California Chiropractic Association and the American Chiropractic
Association.
My father, Dr. Roderick P. Clinton D.C., is the most influential chiropractor in my life and he has
taught me many things about helping others. I am a child of chiropractic as well as an adult. I believe
chiropractic care to be a way of life, a way of living. I have always been influenced by the chiropractors
that surrounded me, my aunt, Dr. Bonnie Travis D.C. and my uncle, Dr. Ernie Pike, D.C. These
outstanding role models inspire me to achieve my goals. I have acquired the clinical expertise that I
need to achieve my goal of opening a holistic center, with the teachings of Palmer West and the
knowledge gained from my personal experiences. My vision is that this center will cater primarily to the
needs of women and their families.
I have wanted to help and heal people since I was a child and into the present. My future has always
been that of a healer and provider of people's well being. To be a whole healthy person, the body
must be in tune with the mind. I envision the body like a field and through this field flows a great river.
From this great river many streams flow into all facets of the field. If one of these streams gets
dammed the field at the end of the river will wither and die. Keeping the rivers flowing is essential to
good health achieved through a holistic form of health care.
While growing up, I spent many hours in my father's chiropractic office. I was inspired by the joy he felt
in helping his patients. A young girl, almost crippled and unable to walk with out assistance, came to my
father for chiropractic care. After a regimen of chiropractic care, she was able to walk again. This
experience impressed me deeply and directed me toward chiropractic as a method of healing.
For personal enjoyment I have taken numerous art classes and am building my personal portfolio.
Painting has allowed me to be creative and express myself. Swimming is another big interest in my life
and gives me a sense of peace.
