Santa Barbara Chiropractor : Dr. Crystal Galvan
I have experienced optimal health with chiropractic care since birth and the last time I was in the hospital was when I was born. As a child I was never vaccinated and continue to experience life with a fully functioning immune system.

As a young girl I spent many hours in my fathers chiropractic office in old town Goleta. Dr. Roderick P. Clinton, D.C. practiced locally for over twenty years, contributing to the lives of many people. This was the first exposure that influenced me to following in my father's footsteps into the chiropractic profession.
I was inspired by the joy he felt in helping his patients. A young girl, almost crippled and unable to walk with out assistance, came to my father for chiropractic care. After a regimen of chiropractic care, she was able to walk again and have a normal life. This experience impressed me deeply and directed me toward chiropractic as a method of healing.
I have wanted to help and heal people since I was a child and into the present. My calling has always been that of a healer and provider of people's well being. To be a whole healthy person, the body must be in tune with the mind. I envision the body like a field and through this field flows a great river. From this great river many streams flow into all facets of the field. If one of these streams gets dammed the field at the end of the river will wither and die. Your nervous system is this river and it must be kept free flowing to every part of your body to ensure optimal function. Keeping the rivers flowing is essential to the good health achieved through chiropractic health care.
This is especially important for the pregnant practice member. During pregnancy, when a mothers' body systems are basically functioning for two, any interference to the nerve transmission supporting their function can be detrimental to her health and well-being, as well as the growing baby’s. Reducing this nerve system stress is a key ingredient for normal bodily function.
Dr. Crystal A. Galvan was born and raised in Goleta, California, among the fruit trees and the ocean breeze. She graduated from Dos Pueblos High School in 1996 and has returned to be the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Football program since 2007.
Dr. Crystal achieved an Associates of Arts in Chemistry at Santa Barbara City College in 2003. Continuing on the family legacy of attending a Palmer College, she was accepted to Palmer West Chiropractic College in San Jose, California. During her three and a half years at Palmer West, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer West Public Clinic. She was Vice President of the school's Medical Spanish Club. She also attended various meeting of the Pediatrics Club, Sports Club, SOT Club and Activator Club.

Dr. Crystal met her husband in 1997 while working together at Sizzler. They were married in 2008 in a beautiful ceremony presided over by Rev. Karen Weingard close to the beach in Downtown Santa Barbara. Fabian works at a wonderful company in Goleta, where he is a level II material handler. Cherry is their very large and lovable Staffordshire Terrier, who is the beginning of their family. We are so proud to introduce our beautiful new daugter Lupita born in March.

During football season you can find Dr. Crystal on the DP Charger sidelines helping student athletes perform at their peak and cheering on the team!

We Are A Chiropractic Family
As a child and an adult of chiropractic - I love getting adjusted! The chiropractic profession is very physical, so for me it is important to get adjusted at least twice a week. If I have a pain, I get adjusted. If I am fighting a bug, I get adjusted. If I am preparing for a big week or a big work out, I get adjusted. If I have had a long week, I get adjusted. If I am just not feeling like myself, I get adjusted.
To help my body fully accept the adjustments that I so love, I must exercise, eat right, drink enough water and have a positive mental attitude. My husband gets adjusted once a week and I make sure to adjust my dog once a month. I enjoy walking Cherry, boxing at Duke's Boxing Gym and swimming. Since eating right can be challenging and our foods don't typically have as much nutritional value as in the old days, my family uses whole food Standard Process supplementation to get all of the nutrients we need.
